Your profile pics are one of the most important keys to your success on Adult FriendFinder! Good photos can usher in tons of emails, chats and hookups ‒ and bad photos can sabotage you before you've even gotten your foot in the door.

If you're concerned about privacy, and don't want to show your face, you can still upload a variety of pics (we'll get to that in a second). But if you don't have photos, we don't know who we're talking to. We don't know if you're a real person, or a Nigerian prince who has recently come into wealth and is in desperate need of our bank account number. Adding a picture immediately adds a human dimension to your profile ‒ without it, you're a bunch of text on a screen.

With that in mind, here are a couple of handy dandy guidelines to what pictures you should (and should not) add to your profile.

UPLOAD A GOOD DEFAULT PIC

Your default pic is your most important photo; it's what shows up in search results, inboxes, next to your comments in groups; think of it as your first impression on the site. So, you want to make it a good one ‒ pick a flattering, well-lit, in-focus closeup photo of your face or best feature.

But before you choose photo of your package as your default pic: the overwhelming amount of feedback we hear from women and couples here is that they don't like looking at an army of cocks marching down their search page. Dick pics are certainly acceptable for the site, but you may not want to use them as your default photo.

Popular members who receive tons of emails and flirts daily report that dick pics start to blend into one another, and men with either face pics or interesting non-penis photos are more likely to catch their eye in an overflowing inbox.

Experiment with your default pic to see what works best for you; but you might want to put explicit, up-close genitalia photos in their own separate album. If she wants to see your cock, she'll ask!

Also, remember your default pic will appear much smaller in search results, so make sure it's something that will translate well in a smaller size. (Close-ups are ideal, since photos taken from very far away may not work well.)

Here are a couple of DO examples of good default photos:

And a couple of DON'Ts:

See the difference?

PROTECTING YOUR IDENTITY

If you're comfortable showing your face ‒ go for it! Face pics tend to get lots of views. However, we understand not everyone is comfortable doing this, so we recommend cropping the photo appropriately. A close-up photo of your best feature ‒ smile, eyes, abs, biceps, legs, cleavage ‒ will show off your assets while protect your privacy.

If you need help with editing your digital photos, try searching for "how to crop a photo" on the web.

A carefully cropped photo will be both flattering and protect your identity, like these DO examples:

FOCUS IS YOUR FRIEND

There's nothing worse than a blurry photo of a cute girl or hot guy! Don't let fuzzy cell phone pics or webcam stills sabotage your good looks.

We highly recommend picking up a digital camera ‒ these days they're cheap and easy to acquire. If your budget is tight, look for a used model. Once you get one, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it!

Also, pay attention to the lighting; make sure you're in a well-lit spot, since photos that are too bright or too dark will obscure your face or physique.

BACK AWAY FROM THE PHOTOSHOP

A little color correction is fine, but don't use photo manipulation programs to distort your photo beyond recognition. Blurring, swirling and painting out your face will make you look either silly or downright creepy. And don't use tricks to nip in your waist, boost your boobs or erase wrinkles; your pictures, just like your profile, should be honest ‒ otherwise it will only lead disappointment when you meet up in real life. (And on that note, make sure you have up-to-date photos.)

DON'T go overboard like this:

If your concern is protecting your identity, just use the crop tool; don't go crazy with elaborate editing tricks to disguise your face. There's an important reason behind this; you don't want the photo editing to distract from the most important element: YOU.

DON'T do this:

These extreme Photoshop Don'ts are too distracting; no one will be focusing on you as a person, they'll just be transfixed by your freaky missing face!

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS

...and clean up your messy room! Again, the focus should be on you: your pretty smile, your impressive abs, your fantastic ass. If you're posing in a messy room full of crap, no one will be looking at you, they'll be looking at all the junk on your floor (and it sends a bad message about you right off the bat!)

DON'T use photos like these:

In addition to a simple, clutter-free background, your photo is framed properly; again, the focus should be on you, not the giant tree in the background, or the bear attacking the shark behind you.

UPLOAD A VARIETY OF PICS

We give everyone on the site the ability to upload hundreds of photos ‒ so take advantage of it! Use the photo albums to illustrate the many different parts of your life: make one album for your risqué pics, one for your playspace, one to showcase your hobbies, one for vacation photos - the sky is the limit! Just make sure to label the albums correctly to avoid confusion or miscommunication.

Now, get ready for your close-up and start snappin!
