32nd Annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill

Apparently this is what happens every year in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

First of all, why didn't I know this? I adore cowboys. Well, at least the clean ones. The smelly ones should take a bath because I won't adore them until they do.

Second, who'da-thunk that cowboys and skiing had anything in common? And that they went so well together? Skiing is so much more fun than horses before I start getting hate mail from animal lovers, I love horses but if ya hang on for a minute you'll see there's a method to my madness for several reasons;

1) Skis smell much better than horses.

2) Skis do not require feeding every 24 hours.

3) Skis do not poop in copious amounts. In fact, skis do not poop in any amount.

4) Skis will not turn on you when you least expect it and bite your hand.

5) Skis do not weigh 14 tons and then proceed to step on your feet.

6) Skis cannot stomp you to death with their front hooves.

On the other hand, there is some commonality between skis and horses;

1) Both can dump you on your ass even though you might be hanging on for dear life.

2) Both can run you into trees and kill you.

3) Both need to be guided with some kind of harness and strap system.

4) Both need to be cleaned, polished, and shined up after each use.

5) Both need lessons before each can be used.

6) Both cost a heck of a lot of money to maintain and participate with.

All in all, I think I prefer riding the Cowbo...er Skis to riding horses. I think Skiing Cowboys are an excellent idea. I want one of my own. And, if he sings, so much the better.

When I lived in Colorado I remember a naked event too.
