Letting Go....

A soul crys
Another heartbreak is born
Little tiny raindrops
Trickle down my cheeks.

Lost in oblivion
I torcher myself
With thoughts of the past
That will forever be
Painted in my memory.

Days turn to nights
And they pass
Unknown to me
I dwell in my own
Glass of pain.

That sickening feeling
That fills my stomach
No food or water
Could cure this need
It's emptiness
I indulge myself with.

I am complete no longer
A stranger in my own shell
My fear of moving forward
Only to remain here
In my shadows of sorrow
Of what once was
Of what will never be
Again.......

Totally agree, plus its more constructive than kicking the furniture and a good replacement for kicking the cat or dog especially when you have neither lol

Heres one I wrote a while ago that I think is in a similar vein and when I was in a similar place to what I got when i read yours

Christmas past
==============

I keep the ghost of christmas past
Things that were, but didnt last
A faded glimpse of how to feel
A polaroid now ethereal

A timeless bond to there and then
Might one day fade but who knows when
no lessening in a solitary start
But living on inside my heart

No presence left of which to see
But nonetheless still real to me
A friendly warmth within my chest
Yet seek the cold some say is best

To throw away the burning ember
A life as cold as dark september
Forgetting how "to feel" had felt
To freeze once more, forget the melt

The logic screaming in that plan
May strike the chords of a wiser man
But I think I'll hold on to my ghost
And the memories that mean the most

winebaby, i am new to your blog, but i already know i will be appreciating your posts. i enjoyed this poem very much. it reminds me of my own experience of loss, a time when there is no turning back. thanks... it was nicely done!

How contrare it is that it's those painful memories
That bring out most of our creativity..
