And risk losing it all...

Imagine you have a lover with whom you are in a deep, passionate relationship! You want to see her/him alot obviously, but is there a point where you risk losing it all? What I mean to ask is, does the passion in a relationship depend on a certain amount of seperation? Is a large percentage of the success of a love affair dependant on anticipation and longing, which would be spoiled by over-exposure?

Is this what happens in marriages? Is this why many of them fail where they would have succeeded? Had these two passionate creatures kept their degree of seperation, instead of thrusting their habits and dirty laundry on each other, would they still be ripping each others clothes off at the slightest opportunity? Or perhaps marriage is for something completely different?
