I even amaze myself sometimes..

I'm used to being clumsy. I have been a klutz since I was young. It's not that I'm exactly un-coordinated. It's like this: If there is a patch of ice that 300 people have walked over without slipping on it....I will step on it and wipe completely out. If there is a hot coal sitting outside the firepit...and everyone else has been walking around barefoot all night...I would be the one to step on it. If there was a low hanging lamp or something and I had ducked under it all night, I would still somehow manage to clock my head on it before the night was over. There was one time, I was meeting my friends at a bar. I pulled up in my ultra-hot 1988 Ford Thunderbird (5.0 liter engine thankyouverymuch - no one beat me off stoplights). It had very very very heavy doors. I get out, and grab ahold of the door to SLAM it shut, and next thing I know, I was on my back in the parking lot halfway underneath the damn car. I had managed to find the ONE slick spot in the whole 1/2 acre parking lot, and fall on my ass.

So anyway, I should have know that something was going to happen because I haven't fallen down or bumped into anything in quite a while. It was raining here Monday night. I had gone outside to have half of a smoke & let my dog play in the rain for a bit. When it was time to go in, I called to him, and with my head turned towards him - tried to take the step up onto the porch. This does not work out well. My toe caught on it, slipped off, sent my knee careening into the edge of the next step up. Normally, this would just hurt, but I have had major problems with this knee before. I felt my kneecap slip out of place, and then pop back in right away, so I was kind of relieved. It used to pop out all the time in high school & I had had ACL surgery on it about 12 years ago. So I got in the house, grabbed some frozen peas, strapped them to the STUPID STUPID knee, took about 5 ibuprophen and went to sleep. I woke up yesterday morning, and my knee was seriously, about the size of a volleyball. So I called into work, then called the doctor. He drained an obscene amout of fluid from my knee and then told me I had torn ligaments and tendons and God knows what else. So...guess who gets to have surgery tomorrow? Oh well..at least it's a scope and not the ol' scalpel and clamp type of surgery.

The hilarious thing is...my doctor told me about the only way a person could have done something like that...was by hitting a stationary edged object at just the right angle to send the kneecap out of place. I am sooooo gifted. Now, hopefully I can keep myself in one piece until tomorrow afternoon.

Have a good night all!

Ouch ... at least you are talented when you injure yourself. I had that whole knee clicking in and out place myself back maybe 14 years ago, now you have me paranoid I might trip and knock it on the step lol.
