something to think about !!!!!

Wisdom Versus Intelligence
What is the difference between these two in your view?

If you throw knowledge and information into the mix, does it make a difference?

Yes well said. I also think wisdom allows you to learn from your mistakes. I have met plenty of intelligent people who just never seem to learn...

In the abstract sense, I think intelligence is the ability to comprehend, to take a set of facts and understand their meaning. We can demonstrate intelligence by showing that we can manipulate shapes and identify patterns, or recognise words or phrases, or understand relationships. There are reasonably well-established tests for intelligence.

Wisdom however is knowing what is right. I recall reading a book where the son was a clever boy, but not as clever as he thought he was, and the daughter was very clever, indeed too clever to show it very often. Wisdom is about knowing that something should not be said, as much as knowing the right thing to say.

I am a business intelligence professional, and much of my job is to take the information held in a business or a system and convert that into something useable. What value is there in knowing that ticket sales are highest on Tuesday evenings unless you also recognise that refreshments or staffing are inadequate for that time, or that you have too much dead stock or unoccupied staff at other times. In that sense, a cinema has information held in its data stores, when that is converted into a picture of the business it becomes knowledge, when it identifies the direction the business needs to take to fulfil its goal (to be profitable) then you have business intelligence, and when someone manages the business to best use its resources you show wisdom.

IMHO
