Missed: My First Anniversary

I was so excited about coming back that I didn’t notice that my April 11 post marked my one year anniversary. Many, many thanks to the many lovely friends who left welcome notes on that post or who emailed them! I’ll be visiting all your blogs over the weekend.

I know folks look for a birthday review at this time. When I came to Blogville it was still a New Town, with pristine brickwork and sparkling new paint. It’s taken a few dents during the last twelve months, some wear and tear on the paintwork, a few tiles missing in the roofs. Some of the tenants have move on, but others have moved in: whole new suburbs are emerging. There are new neighbors and old hands happily rubbing shoulders. What started out as a bit of a lark and a distraction from a few things that I didn’t want to think about has become an important part of my being, sometimes I think a whole new way of life.

Which of the many fibres of my life have become woven into the blogosphere?

Site Map 2005 shows that in 2005 I put up 43 posts on bloggers and blogging, 3 on relationships, 34 on sex (8 of those about camming). There were 9 about my split personality, 14 answering questions about myself, , 6 on travel, 18 on daily life, and 7 poems. This year I’ve posted mainly on blogging and relationships, with a little bit of sex on the side. Soon I’ll start a new site map for this year.

When I look at what I’ve put up this year so far I see a woman in hiding. At the beginning of this year I focused on relationships, on accepting what happens and coping with thwarted desire - but without telling the story.

Then, for a while I was nervous about “Over Exposure” and I felt compelled to hold back on what I was writing. It’s OK now. My Google count went down as dramatically as it previously went up. With the shift to the thirty-day rule for popularity ratings and my recent inactivity my “unique comment score” has lowered considerably. I “moved” to a new continent, so I’m no longer the top blogger in my country and next time some idiot emails me that they are stalking in my street I won’t feel vulnerable. If I want to, I can have a different profile here and the guys I meet will know nothing about Waggypolly and her blog.

Where do I want my blog to go? I want it to continue making me new friends around the world. Now I don’t feel scared about being identified I want to post more about my daily life and places I go to. I want to be more open. I want to continue exploring sex and relationships and to contribute more creative prose. Oh yes, and I’ve not done a post on my camming experiences for ages.

There are journeys to share here, and byways to explore.

Happy Anniversary!!! Polly...I'm looking forward to watching your blog emerge this year. I'm grateful that you do not feel like you have to be in "hiding" any longer. And I don't think I've heard much at all about your camming experiences! So...blog on dear friend!

Happy Anniversary Polly! Just as Angel commented, I too have not heard much about your camming career. I'm going to have to do some research in your old blogs, it sounds like there is a story there.

Glad to have you back as a regular blogger, the place wasn't the same without you.

Well, Happy Anniversary Polly!!! I too am sorry I missed it but something odd was going on around blogville. I know I checked in here last week and found no new posts even when the register said there should be some. Ahh, well, life goes on.

Thank you for the review of your past year. It was interesting to have you share the big picture thru your eyes again....and I look forward to the next year with you in blogland.
