Looking into Blog Addiction

On my trip I found many things that needed looking into; this is a picture of me looking into a megolithic jar on the Lao Plain of Jars.

Something else I was looking into while I was away was the issue of blog addiction! For eighteen months blogging for me meant all or nothing: spend hours on line or switch off for a week or so. Sharing my trip on AdultFriendFinder meant an exercise in controlled blogging; I decided to post and not to respond to comments. After all, posting about new experiences is worthwhile but spending hours in cyber caf├ęs commenting on comments seems silly when there is a whole new world to explore. The self-discipline was good for me, and althought the number of hits did go down, still all my best friends were reading me and leaving tracks.

I've just finished posting my return comments and I felt so blessed that there are those of you that cared to follow my journey and leave messages, and many more who seem to have read (at least looked) without leaving traces.

Now I'm home, the challenge is to carry on blogging and enjoy it, but not to let it take over. I have other interests (Do I? Yes, really I do, I do.) to follow. I want to practice weaving the different strands of my life together more skillfully.

I know you'll all help me.

Of course we'll help you Polly! We're just glad to share a part of your life from time to time! You know, Mzhuny rarely responds to the comments on her blog...but she does read and respond on other people's.......and she is the queen of blogland. So, you weave those strands of life together....and we'll be happy whenever we are woven in just a little!

But I had such a good time last night, chatting to friends on line; if I'd disconnected I'd have missed all of them!

LadyS, I'm back and I'll be around Blogland for the next few months. Going down south for a week in September, then probably India in December.

Blogging should be fun and life should be lived. Personally I only allocate a certain amount of time here.

It is good to have back Polly, whatever time you allot.

Blogging IS fun, and there's not enough to fill my time around here. You are super active. Remember my posts on loneliness? More of those coming up . . .

I'm not sure what sort of standard you're refering to, but I hope it's a high one!

From the outside the fabric looks well woven....perhaps you are just looking at the wrong side.

But I do know exactly what you are talking about.
