( NO ) Greetings from Thailand

So, after promising a travelogue; what happens? I hit the Thai cybercafes and discover that our Friendly Site is blocked by the Thai Government. Now does that fit with one's image of Thailand?

Anyway I had five or six days there. This is the gateway to a temple where I went to listen to the monks chanting. I think the Thai government would approve of me showing that to you. One the other side of the street was the simple hotel I and two friends stayed in. It overlooked the Mekong River and beyond the river was Laos. We chartered a boat and spent a whole day floating down the river to our next stopover.

This is Polly, still Wagging

Ah Polly! You make me wish I was walking along these streets with you! Enjoy!

Wouldn't it be fun to meet in some little-known corner of the globe and go exploring together?

Given the reputation Thailand has for sexual goings-on, especially in Bangkok, I think their censorship may be a little silly.

That was my first reaction; but thinking it through I realised that not all Thais (and perhaps especially not the Government) are delighted with the reputation Bangkok enjoys, so perhaps this is part of their deliberate strategy to control commercial sex.
