Me And Dru

So, this wonderful friend of mine comes to visit to help me celebrate my divorce. And in the course of events, changes my life forever. She has given me gifts far greater than gold, and I can only hope the gifts I gave her were just as great.

She proved to me that life is worth living, that love is worth giving, and that joy is only a simple moment away. She gave me back my heart. She proved to me that it wasn't me, that I am not everything my ex tried to make me believe. And she gave me memories that I will cherish forever.

And love is a many splendid thing, but unfortunately sometimes love alone is not enough. We have lives to live, paths to follow, and things to do. And no matter how great love is, how beautiful it feels, it can't replace everything.

She taught me not to settle. She taught me to give and recieve. And she taught me to give love wings and set it free. Sometimes a moment is all you need, and sometimes a friendship can last a lifetime.

It's been a long, exhausting, joyous, uplifting, learning, ass-kicking, love-filled, heart-filling, heart-breaking vacation. And I will never be the same again. I'm much the better for it and wouldn't take a minute of it back, even if at the end we had to set each other free.

I'm learning many new things, and feeling things I never really thought I'd feel again, or for that matter more strongly than I ever have before. She's my best friend, and I'm incredibly thankful for the time, and the love, she gave me.

It's the dawning of a new era for me, to love enough to let go, and to appreciate exactly what I have, and to appreciate me.

Thank you.

Oh, most definately! It was a life-changing moment. Actually, it was many of them, all compressed into just a few days. And I'm sure you'll be one of the few to hear more about it. But I'll leave that for her to do.

back-atcha sweetie !

So - what did you do on your summer vacation - I changed the life of a very sweet young man - I helped him see how great he is and taught him to curse and take naughty pictures and knocked off a few purity points - not bad work for an old broad w/only 4 days to work with.
Oh ya - and he taught me to use my energy for positive purposes with great results, cook hot-dogs over an open fire, climb a F'ing mountain of rocks (and don't even try to tell me it isn't an official mountain - it was almost a half mile high) and made me an official pagan - all-in-all - the best 4 days I can remember in a very long time - everyone here should be so lucky. It was worth every inch of the 1835.6 miles (round-trip).

Yes, and don't you forget to practice that energy work! The same as I'll keep looking for the moon.

Thank you so much for making that trip. I just wish my car had been up to the challege so I could have saved that for you. But then, you'd have never gotten to climb that mountain or stand in the heart of Parfrey's Glen with the spirits. So I won't feel too bad, because we both know it was destined to work out exactly as it did.
