A Wrinkle In Time

Well, I'm trying something new. Summer has just been too darn hot for me to go for a walk (or jog) after work. It's evil out there even if it does still seem cooler than summer should be. I tried moving my workouts to night, before I went to bed, but it was still hot and most of the time I couldn't convince myself to get up and out again after settling down for the night.

So, I'm trying mornings. I'm not about to get up yet an hour earlier. 4.30 in the morning is bad enough, but 3.30 would be crazy! So I've shifted my work hours to give me time to jog in the morning. Which means much crappier beltline traffic, but lets me get out in the morning. As an added advantage, I now only need to shower once a day.

So far it's working. (This being the first morning, that's easy to say.) Because I've been so lax in my workouts, so I'm a bit out of shape now. Thus my morning jog only consisted of at best half of my ~1.5 mile course. The other half I power-walked. And it's still freaking humid out there even if it is much cooler. But hopefully this will work.

I've been jogging at night--but I can do that--I live in suburbia hell....
...or in the morning... *frowns*

BTW--yer entry title happens to be one of my favorite books

I can't even remember what the book was about. It's been so long and there have been so many. Care to refresh my memory?
