Communication on A Date

I am a professional communicator. It is what I do for a living. I also want to say that I have never had that "frat boy" charm that seems to be so popular with women in general. I am fairly comfortable meeting with strangers and talking openly, sometimes even frankly as that is an imperative part of AdultFriendFinder dates. My dating is a little different; because I will meet with a woman for multiple days at a time, it gets a little more complicated. After you run out of that nervous chatter and small talk, and you have not achieved "soul-mate" status, what do you do?

After four days traveling with a woman from Finland, I learned, from her, that communication of this magnitude is an American preoccupation! As were heading for the Gorge, just east of Portland last week, she was enjoying the beauty and reminded me that to a Finn, silence is often a good thing.

I am still programmed by many American women that silence is awkward. Many times in the deserts of Northern California, I was nervously searching for discussion topics only to find out that she was having a great time enjoying the unique scenery. Go Figure..

Photos are coming on Monday.
