The Roaming Gnome on Travelocity

I've been noticing Travelocity's "roaming gnome" character for quite a long time now. He's the ceramic lawn ornament who was supposedly stolen from his owner’s front yard in North Carolina, so that he could be taken to exotic travel spots the world over.

Has anybody else noticed the subtle phallic imagery of this advertising icon? To me, this gnome looks way too much like an oversized butt plug. His voice sounds way too much like that of an aged, effeminate British pensioner too. It would have been much funnier to hear his voice being done by a more masculine actor, like Colin Farrell, Russell Crowe, or Liam Neeson.
