How to spot a fake profile on this site

Although I would say the numbers have been cut down significantly over time, there are still female profiles on this site which I consider insincere or fake. What I mean when I say this is that the people who created them are ones whom never intend to actually meet AND are using their profile as a means of directing respondents towards some type of web-based commercial enterprise, like a paysite for porn pics or live webcams which charge by the minute.

First, almost always, the profile will be standard. It will almost always have just one pic on it too, which will commonly show a rather attractive female. Sometimes, the pic will look as if it was taken by a professional photographer. The female's age will typically be quite young, sometimes just 18. It will not be very verbose at all, but just with minimal details. The profile will also be set up and written in such a way to suggest that the female is not really that picky at all about whom she is seeking. What really makes me laugh is when she writes about how she is into guys over 50 or 60 while she is just 18 herself. The most telling thing is how she will actually instruct guys to include their e-mail addresses, outside of this site, within either their initial message or their reply. The reply she sends to this outside e-mail address will inevitably then direct the recipient towards her paysite, which is quite laughable really, since she could have just included her pics in that initial reply. Webcams can be done totally for free too, either with this site or through the IM's which are also free.

So I guess the malfeasance and treachery will continue on this site, as long as men who are both horny and gullible are around.

I have reported various profiles where women actually quote prices, but those profiles are never taken down. There do seem to be fewer scam artists and courtesans here than on other sites, however.

Other dead give aways are the same exact photo/profile under a different name/location. I agree, in general, with your ways to spot a fake; if it seems too good to be true, it probably IS...but SOME legit ads DO ask for an email addy outside of AdultFriendFinder due to the fact that AdultFriendFinder is less than reliable when it comes to forwarding mail. I have also encountered a couple of ads that were put there by "pros"... not promoting a website , but offering services for $$. Great blog..hope it helps.

I will agree with you But this goes both ways.Men on this site also play this game somewhat or they are into cybersex and never truely want to meet. By the way I wished you lived closer

Those sites are likely just after the men here... you know the testosterone overwhelms our brains...so we can't figure out we're being scammed until... oops... too late.

rockwriter58 - I have personally witnessed fake profiles on this site getting deleted as a result of my complaints about them. I apparently also get bonus points for this too. The only "pros" I have encountered on this site have been in the chat rooms. I always tell them to get the fuck out as soon as they mention things like rates or whatever.

bluegenes51 - I don't buy the whole "This site does not deliver messages reliably" line that I have seen on some profiles. That is yet another commonly used thing by the fake profiles, so that the responding male will then give out his outside e-mail address and then soon receive a pay site solicitation as a reply. I got a reply from a suspicious profile like that just yesterday. I replied back, "have never really had a problem getting messages on this site. That's what I would like to think my $150 annual membership pays for. We both got each other's messages with no problem, right?"

ghostgirl713 - I have no doubt that there are men on this site who play games too. I have never heard of any male profiles serving as fronts for profit-making web enterprises however. I will be in the Midwest this June.

sexyfitwoman - Of course you have not been directed to a pay site. That's something only us men seem to experience.

I have been on this site for years. Like I've said before, the fake profiles actually seemed to me to be in the majority in the past, especially back in the 90's. Back then, almost every female I contacted replied back to me with some type of pay site solicitation. I would always reply, "No thanks, I can spank it to free web porn all day if I want." I will have to again give the staff of this site some credit for cutting down on the amount of fake profiles.

I agree,
That is so true, I responded to a nice young girl, her reply was
by the way I charge $250 and hour. There are call girls using this
site to screen their prospects, cleaver little bitches.
