Its the start of a whole new week and im already feeling drained! Gawd, i must be gettin old , eh?

what is it about mondays that most people dread?
isnt the weekend supposed to provide u with relaxation, respite, fun, sleep, rejuvination and all that de-stressing , so you can cheerfully look forward to the coming work week ?

so how come MONDAY mornings are such a pain in the ass to wake up to compared the rest of the work week?

im sure you all know Bob Geldof and the Boomtown rats ditty ~~~
" TELL ME WHY I DONT LIKE MONDAYS... i wanna shoot the whole day down!"

I am so there most mondays ....

Yet truthfully though, Monday shud be a promise of a new beginning... right?

I personally make it a point to start a perenial promise to diet always on a MOnday! If i blow it, id blow the whole week off and promise to diet again the next monday! Hehe! Sucker!

oh well... i blew off my diet this week coz i had a sausage mcmuffin with egg at my favorite scottish fine dining restaurant first thing this morning, so that was that!
starting on tuesday just seems a lil off, dont you think? haha...yeah right? excuses excuses!

anyways, aint no better way to start the week off than paying all your bills ,eh! bummer!

most chinese owned businesses down here in the PI dont pay off their bills nor their employees salaries on mondays. either they pay them off sundays or tuesdays. superstition...or aptly called feng shui dictates that its bad omen to take out money at the start of a work week coz it could bring in bad luck for the business and you could end up pouring out money for the rest of the week!

im not chinese, but sometimes i think that makes sense to me...probably.

so tell me........WHY DONT YOU LIKE MONDAYS?

or do you?

You wrote "Yet truthfully though, Monday shud be a promise of a new beginning... right? "

Right. Mondays should be the promise of a new beginning.....

And I notice that when they really are, come the weekend, I can hardly wait for Monday. I've had weekends where I could hardly wait for the days to drag by.

But on Sunday evening, when Monday only holds the promise of more of the same old rut... then I don't look forward to Monday at all. Today I'm off with a cold. But a couple of weeks ago, even a severe case of the flu wouldn't have kept me home. What happened? None of your business

Many people are perpetual "Monday-haters," calling in to work sick and so on. No doubt they are stuck in a perpetual rut.

You say you are in the PI at this time? Where? Davao?

hello karezza........

yeah i have weekends when i cant wait for monday...and when i know im goin to deal with the same ole stubborn ass students..i cant help but groan in agony of havin to face my 40 students the coming week. im a part time teacher at a college here in MANILA ..... ive been doin it for 5 years now. I found fullfillment in teaching and for some reason, I AM starting to get into a rut.
I still like teaching, but it takes a toll on my larynx and pharynx now that i cant talk for very long anymore. Even the doctor has adviced me to quit teaching and find something else to do.
And believe you me...teachin adults is a REAL PAIN in the ass compared to teachin kids!!! GAWD! they are more stubborn...more noisy...more rowdy!

i teach part time now... but i am thinking of changing career lanes for good!

I hope you feel better this week... and im wondering what business u got into to make u stay in and nurse that cold! hehehe

thanks for dropping by and sharin your thoughts!!! hope u check in oncein a while.....

have a great week ahead!

Why don't you like mondays? What do you do for a loving? Is it a job you like? Is your weekend filled with activities that bring you happiness and/or fulfillment? My feeling is that any of these alone or in combination can make getting up on Mondays a real pain tn the A$$. Just anopinion. Hopefully your monday morning blues disappear soon. have a great day.

Hi, we all have monday blues... the best is to have something fun going on Sunday, so that when monday comes you also have something to reminisce.

I am Chinese, your observation is correct for the older generation chinese, but for us who were born and grew up in Philippines, we are even more pinoy than those who are full blooded pinoys born abroad.

Have you met a Chinese first hand? Well I hope I can help clear the misconception about chinese or chinoys.

as for teaching.. I agree, hard to teach. better if you install an amplifier in your class to augment your volume of your voice. If you need help I am an electronic enthusiast and a computer geek too. I can supply you the equipment at cost. very portable. as a new friend.

Hope we can chat sometime.. what forums or IM groups do u join? well I am in all using the same handle... very easy to remember for me...

I also have some female professor friends who are in the same predicament as you are. But I was able to help them overcome it too.

Have a great weekend.

btw, just pm or msg me anytime you want.. just ID urself.
