MOOD MUSIC MONDAY

We've tried our hand at love before.
We've been around the game enough to know the score.
But then is then, and now is now.
And now is all that matters anyhow.

Make believe it's your first time, leave your sadness behind.
Make believe it's your first time, and I'll make believe it's mine.

The door is closed, it's you and me.
We'll take our time with love, the way it ought to be.
This moment's ours, tonight's the night.
And if we fall in love, that's all right.

Make believe it's your first time, leave your sadness behind.
Make believe it's your first time, and I'll make believe it's mine.

So close your eyes and hold me close.
Let our hearts pretend that love is ours to share tonight, and it might never end.

Make believe it's your first time, leave your sadness behind.
Make believe it's your first time, and I'll make believe it's mine.
Make believe it's your first time, and I'll make believe it's mine.

~~~Carpenters~~~
I absolutely love the sound of Karen and Richard Carpenter! Wonderful lyrics, superb musical arrangement and a nice full sound! Best when accompanied by slightly chilled red wine, that special person and a flickering fireplace on a chilly fall evening!
Can you relate? Can you remember the wonderful sound that Karen and Richard created? Do these lyrics speak to your heart?
Beautiful words....but I've never been a big Carpenters fan. I always thought they were a little creepy....incestual if you will.
Tiller...
Yep, I can relate to what you're saying about that brother/sister thing. I saw a piece on the History Channel or one of the Entertainment channels a couple years ago. It started with their early childhood, their family and upbringing, their musical training, their emergence onto the national scene all the way thru the time that Karen had the problem with anorexia and then eventually died at a very young age. She apparently had two or three serious love relationships which failed and hurt her deeply. If you will listen to the words in many of their songs you will see this 'failed love' theme coming thru. Anyway, I just think they were very talented, and I love the sound of their music. I like a lot of different music (everything but ) and will try to convey that over the weeks ahead. Interested in learning about your favorite music/artists over the coming weeks too!
