a picture says..........

Can anyone out there give me some pointers? Here's the deal, I bought a web cam, set it up and the image was crap. I returned it, got the next best model, same thing. I did some research looking for a good camera and find variation's of the same theme. I'm looking for suggestions about make/model for a decent web cam. My findings have ranged from $10 POS to $300-$400 versions designed for security/surveilance work. Don't need to spend that much.

What type of camera is being used for the picture's in the profile's? Are these for the most part uploaded still image's? None of the web cams I have seen produce a good quality image. Trying to go that route to be able to use video chat. Any ideas let me know.

Can't help you with web cams but I used a digital camera for my photo. I have a Kodak EasyShare something. It's great. LOVE it!!!!

I use a Logiteck Quick Cam. Works OK. Big thing is lighting! You need a lot of light, and not behind you. I also use pictures from a Canon Digital Camera from time to time. Thoses pictures are always better quality, but the Web Cam works as long as I have enough light.

The 2 I tried were made by Logitec. Neither worked well. I'll keep looking for a good camera. May have to go with a still camera anyway.
