I Fear No Man, but of Woman ...

The following was inspired by 1hotwahine and her post The Only Thing to Fear Is wherein she quoted several prominent writers and their take on fear. This is my view:

Conscious fear of the UNKNOWN is self destructive ... and manifests as various phobias. This fear resides in the mind and will require a leap of imagination to overcome.

Subconscious fear of the KNOWN is called self-preservation. Next time you tread within an inch of a rattlesnake note how far you jump away before fully registering what just happened. This fear resides in the brain and requires a physical leap.

Conscious fear of the KNOWN is both the source of caution and trepidation. It is the wise application of this fear, knowing when to soldier through it, that is the source of success. This fear resides in the heart and will require a leap of willpower to overcome.

Subconscious fear of the UNKNOWN, perhaps the most insidious of fears, is the source of self-doubt. For while I fear no man, of woman my fear is boundless ... I fear love, I fear rejection, I fear heartache, I fear her disappointment, I fear loss, I fear her. This fear resides in the soul and will require a leap of faith to overcome.

How do you overcome subconscious fear of the unknown?

If it is subconscious how do we realize that we have this fear of a condition, person, place.
Can we accept the fear and utilize it to understand the avoidance and terror, if it is in our subconscious....
I think this is something that is the stuff dreams or nightmares are made of, things we deal with when we are unconscious in our sleep... fears, terrors, monsters
There are a lot of people that say that they dont remember their dreams....
I can only surmise that what they dreamed was still being worked through by their subconscious...

ok I am done

Oh man, that was good! It just made my morning. Now my fears and I can hit the Maui County fair in relative peace. This is a print-out-er, btw.

Yeah, I'm still [blog 1hotwahine]

I have all those same subconcious fears, all the time.
