SAW II

Ok, after being informed twice of what a mind thriller Saw II was from two very reliable sources, I finally forced myself to get to the rental store and rent the darn movie. Now, I hate - HATE scary, horror movies (someone said that they were "pornos for psychopaths" which I totally agree with) because I have a very overactive imagination (which I blame for the lack of imaginary friends as a child), but as much as I despise them, I also love mind thrillers where the journey takes your through twists and sharp turns, and the ending is even more devious and undermining. So, I watched the movie - well, sorta if you count seeing the movie through holes in my blanket, muted moments to not hear the creepy music, and fast forwarding through the gruesome parts.

While I don't want to give away the movie, I would have to say that the most twisted, gut-wrenching, mind-bursting moment was when the macho, scared-sh*tless, un-moralized drug dealer threw the short-hair chickee in the pit of ICK! Needless to say that before the movie, the contents were not on my top ten list, and now of course, after that moment, I don't ever want to see one even if it contained the antidote that could save my life. My body cringed, I stopped breathing, my stomach threw up in the inside, and my heart was punctured beyond belief with how much of a coward and f*cking b*stard he was (or his character).

It was a definite mind thriller and I truly enjoyed that aspect of it. Although I guessed some parts of the ending (the chickee and the cop), I was totally stupefied by the other (the safe). Very ingenious. However, it was also definitely a horror movie and the deranged director did an excellent job of making me leave my light on at night and pushing my sofa in front of my door. He needs to go sit in a pool of lilies and gummy-bears.

Now, it is time for cute doberman puppies named sweetpea, rainbows leading to pots of gold, and pink and purple butterflies that leave a trail of glittering pink dust everywhere they go.

The first SAW was all gore. This second installment psychological which made it all the more frightening. Did you happen to catch "The Ring" before all the hype? THAT film made me sleep with the light on for a few days

After hearing that Saw II wasn't as good as the original (which I saw at it's premiere at Sundance..a midnight showing...and I am NOT a horror fan either. Had to really talk myself into sticking around to see it, and then it was my hands down FAVE of the whole festival...and I think that was the same one where Napoleon Dynamite premiered as well)...I was REALLY glad I SAW it..lol. It rocked!!! I thought that yes, some of it was a little typical...I had probs with the whole "tough gangsta guy" who was only out for himself. It was a little one-note for me. But it was really good. And I was thrilled to see Shawnee back..that was a great surprise in and of itself.

I hear Saw III is even better than the original...can't wait!!!!

that was a great match especially the kick to head to head to GOAL by Germany to tie it up again! but, gosh they did look dog-tired by the end of the 2nd overtime

The "Ring" - yes, that was another one. Never went near a well or fountain for weeks after that (saved a lot of change though )

saw final destination 3 in the theater (again, not my choice)..it definitely had its gruesome moments and thrillers, but Saw II would definitely have to take the cake (which, of course would include some poison as the secret ingredient)

yes i agree with you about the gangsta guy being so stereotypical..wanted to really kick him in the balls and put him in his place - face in dirt

a SAW III? Oh GOD! Will definitely need a hand to hold, arms to grab onto and a chest to lean on

I told you Jigsaw was my villian of the moment . Since the first SAW was an indie film with little time and funding at it's disposal I can forgive some of it shortcomings, and I like them both equally. Can't wait for SAW 3 this October.

Yes, SAW II was an absolutly suspenseful one.. I have been very disappointed in the recent past witht the quality of flicks in this genre.. Im a buff, and cant help it, but lately have been reaching back for some of the older clssics to feel the void. 'Saw I and II', 'Grudge'(first time watching it), and 'The Ring' where probably the three best in the last ten yrs are so..

Hoodwinked? hmmm....if it contains eerie music, dark lighting, and shocking entrances of creepy villians - i think i will stay away one horror movie a year please

Ummm....can I buy some of whatever in the the hellamajig you're on? lol

Can't say I'm totally thrilled by horror movies, but it is fun to go with a girlfriend to one who's very "assertive" with you, dragging yor arse in to see it, only to hide behind your hiney all the way to the movieplex parking lot at midnight...

    Hooold meee...please

    Too cute
no way...you are totally leading the way and you better check the back seat before i get into the car and every dark corner or shadows

don't be sad just be glad you still have some faith in humans as these movies tend to make me more skeptical, but they are just movies right? there really aren't weird sickos out in the world with plans of releasing deadly toxins or air-borne diseases, right?
