Variety is the spice of life...yes?

Just a thought...

Men do things in their private lives that their wives or families may not agree with, but I am the type and I am fond of the type who make the best of situations. There are places in the world where people are neither religious nor judgmental of those who have multiple sexual partners. There are cultures in the world that are very religious and look fondly on those who take multiple wives...
But, we do live in a society that applauds serial monogamy. I still do not believe that it's what we all want. So, we are all forced to make our own way to fit in with society and to satisfy our urges. I still believe that our urges, our fantasies, are things that eat us alive if we do not explore them. So, in a society that does not condone polygamy, a subculture has formed.

Prostitution is illegal, so women who might make a respected living and receive health care from the government in places like Holland are pushed to charge high prices and take risks in the industry. Men hide from their wives (and women from their husbands) and risk their reputations to do what most men (and women!) want to do and are able to do without scorn in other cultures.

So, what is the right way? Do we open our arms to the industry and draw scorn from our massive religious population? Or do we continue to push away a solution to the issues we have hidden behind our eyes as we walk through our days...always wondering what life might be like if it were lived more freely? More openly?

I'm sure many of you have strong feelings on this issue, and it will be interesting to your opinion because you're on this site...
