Win some, Lose some

"There is a certain relief in change, even though it be from bad to worse! As I have often found in traveling in a stagecoach, that it is often a comfort to shift one's position, and be bruised in a new place".
-Washington Irving

Ok, so I applied for a resident advisor postion in my large dormish apartment building.. and didn't get the job. Sigh. Not only that, the position required me to fill out an application, send in a resume, get a reference to fill out a form vouching for me, and sit through two types of interviews. What a waste my time! The thing is... I figured I was a shoe-in. I have no idea why I didn't get the job. I have good communication skills and my resume was rife with academic achievement and job positions requiring large amounts of responsibility. What, my resume was good enough to get me into law school but not good enough for a lame RA position? Are undergrads that hard to deal with?

I went to ask them today where my weakness was in the application process, because I like to use these things as a learning process, but the person I talked to was no help. First, she wasn't active in the weeding out process and, second, she didn't even know if she could tell me in the event that she located the person who did know. She said she'd get back to me in a week after she had a meeting with her supervisors.
