X-Boxing clever

Hi peeps.I found this interesting following reading greeneyesatl05 and her probs getting hold of one for her son this chrimbo.Heres whats happening today in the UK.

"On the strike of midnight Microsoft's Xbox 360 goes on sale and it has already generated a frenzy from potential buyers.

The gaming console costs £279 but examples are being offered on auction site ebay for as much as £500.

It is being talked about as the must-have gift this Christmas, but with some shops already selling out with advance orders, many fear they will be disappointed.

Microsoft has said they will do everything possible to satisfy the huge customer demand.

Some cynics may think that the hype is the result of a ploy to generate interest in the latest product in a hugely-competitive market."

Two things stick out here: Why do they do this knowing it will make christmas a nightmare when it should b a happy time for kiddies n parents. The other is why so much more expensive in england? how the fuck can they justify the extra expense n why do we have to pay as market price what u in the states see as an inflated price.

A world which lets these corporations do as they like cannot b a just one.

It's extremely expensive in the States too. I bought my Sega Genesis in the early 90s for $120 US. It came with two controllers and two games. The X-Box full version would cost my $500 US and comes with one controller and no games.

And the reason for it is because the thing IS a personal computer without a keyboard and a mouse. And, people have had 'em for a couple weeks now and they're already reporting severe bugs. Stupid fools who lined up for it expecting MS to make something that works properly on the first try...

I've almost made the switch from all things Microsoft and am a lot happier. There's a company (can't remember its name) that converts x-boxes to Linux systems; they run faster with less reliability issues. Microsoft is ripping off the customer.

BTW why the fuck does everyone need to get on this bandwagon of "must have" It just inflates prices.... I'll patiently await the later version if at all

I hear you starlight. Here in Germany it is even WORSE! The people here are going nuts, as if it really is a big deal! I mean, in 2 months it will lay in a corner and collect dust just like the old one. I still have my Playstation 2 from 2000 and it is just fine for me and my kids. I say, let them spend all their hard earned money on bullshit, i will get me one when the price drops if neccesary, but I HIGHLY doubt it!

My kids left that phase with playstation 2. I left game playing at Nintendo 64.

I have seen the advertisements for this 360 gizmo, and I must admit that the graphics appear to be awesome. However, I will not be purchasing one.

(unless I find one at a yard sale in 5 years or so. Then I might plunk down 25 bucks for the console, games, and controllers. Used perhaps, but still functional)

isnt in to gaming really, but tries to understand the mentality of those who , specially if they are fit rofl

but loves shopping and hates a ripoff n luvs bargains n sales.

britain is a ripoff so much for so many things that are cheap elsewhere.
