WE DIDN'T JUST KILL THAT CAT?

The goat farm I'm workin' at has way to many cats, there must be fifty or more. I like cats, but that's way to many!
Every where you look there's more, they get into everything including our trucks! They've even been on the roof with us! You can't move without steppin' on one,or throw anything off the roof without hittin' one as well....
There is this one cat the farmers call the special one...it follows me everywhere it's really a Kool little cat!
Me and jr finished up a barn and were throwing off the extra shingles when we noticed the Special one just lying there on the ground,he wasn't moving....
We got down to see if he was okay, but he was lying there all splayed out his eyes rolled back in his head, tongue hangin' out...he wasn't breathing...jr is really freaked about this,so I pick he cat up and it's just limp...
About this time the farmers wife appears and we're trying to figure out what to say...
But she speaks right up and tells us "He's okay it happens all the time,he has seizures and that's how he is after" And here we thought we'd killed their cat! The cat is okay,it's called the "Special one" because it's Epileptic~
And how is your day going!!!

    Quoting silverbreeze2:
I LOVE cats and was about ready to cry at one being killed, but, thank goodness...it's alive.
As a person that has been a cat lady all my life, having too many cats is not the cats fault, I have to say, it is the fault of the human owner...or the person that is responsible for possibly setting out cats that are unwanted. An average female cat can have as many as 120 kittens in her life...those 120 have more cats...and so the circle goes on. If we as humans don't do something to stop the cycle, there will be more and more unwanted cats. I know sometimes a person can not take on this financial responsibility of having them fixed...( having one spayed is more expensive than having the male neutered)...but we do have the option of taking them to the animal shelter. Maybe here, someone will take the cat which at most shelters you have to pay to have them fixed before you can take them home. But if worse comes to worse, and no home has been found for the unfortunate cat, then you have done all you can and is better to have one life lost...than to see 120 new lives that nobody wants, going hungry or sick or killed in the highway.
People just have to take on more responsibility about this!
I agree with her. People do need to take more responsibility. Working at a animal rescue for 10 months, I saw too many unwanted animals. Loveme

Hey you again! I hear ya there! I left them some pamphlets in their mailbox about spaying etc.... I agree with both of ya on this!

I wonder if the farmer has the cat on medication? I seriously doubt that with that many cats around. I bet they don't have many mice around there! lol

Thanx Loveme! I don't think so with all the cats and they all looked scraggly, the goats and dogs seem more important to them! I'm sure the mouse survival rate there is slim
