My visit to the garden was much more than to pick the veggies there. The farm next door raises Miniture ponies and goats as well,The ponies are really something else! They're not much bigger than a really big dog, but they still act just like horses. There's a herd of about twenty mixed with a bunch of little goats and it's a sight to see! When I stopped the first thing I saw was a sign that said German Shepherd pups for sale. No I didn't buy one, but it got me to thinking about how Kilo was. I haven't seen him in a few days, someone else is training him now.So I stopped and threw him a few treats. He still recognizes me yet he's still really leary of me,I kept my distance and let him have his space.Kilo's doing good and he's still alive so that's all that matters there! I can see in his big brown eyes that he's happy, but I do kinda miss that dog....

Shetland Ponies are cool. I'm sure you need quite a lot of them to pull a cart but they're still cool.

Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life.

I remember miniature ponies from when I took my daughter to riding lessons. They were so cute. The kids who used to ride them were little more than toddlers. Teeny kid on a hoss with lil legs ....... looked sooo cute ....... except one of the ponies was prone to sneak up behind you and bite you in the ass for no reason.

Spunky, you are the St Francis of Blogland ..... kudos to you!

The ponies sound really neat.
Hey! If you DID get a puppy, the cats would get used to it, probably. Seeing it's small and all. Then when the dog got bigger, it wouldn't be a problem.

Good thing I haven't seen the little ponies and goats, or I would be wanting to take one home! ( not that I have anywhere to keep them, but it would be a nice thought).

Glad to hear Kilo is doing OK and who knows, if you keep stopping by to see him, he may just one day run up to you wagging his tail and not ready to eat you. He just needs time to feel safe when your around I guess. But if he's happy, I'm happy!

Thanx Silver, I feel the same way... I've even thought maybe one would help keep the grass mowed! But I don't think the health department would like me keepin' a little horse in the garage

Makes my very heart weep at the thought of what that poor dog has endured within his life already. Thank you for taking the steps to rescue this dog, and knowing when he needed more then you could provide. In my years, I have run across a few dogs I could not rehabilitate myself, and had to seek someone better suited for their needs. As I sit here I am looking at my critters. Little Missy my dachshund is on my bed with me sleeping on my feet. Tigger the maine coon is stretched out beside her. Max the Greyhound is on the floor here. Angel my newest rescued cat is rubbing up against me, Bitzy our 18 year old cat is basking in the sunny window ledge. Black Jack our 35 pound cat [no he isnt fat], is eating of course. And Angus my blue heeler is happily shedding on my new couch. They all would be dead before the age of 1, but I heard their calling and answered their need. It is not easy, we both know that, but there is a reason why people like us exist. We can feel the animals pain and see the love in their eyes.
Hugs to you and all your critters, never stop hon.
