GOT MILK?....AMISH STYLE!

Most people probablely Haven't had fresh milk straight from the cow,but those who have usually prefer it to pastuerized! Whole milk straight from the source is full of nutrients and the like, until it's "cooked"then like with vegetables its vaguely what it once was!
BIG BROTHER ALERT
Now In OHIO it's illegal to sell or trade "Fresh From The Cow"! This is a case of the government deceiding what is best for us! And Why? You can buy raw eggs, fresh uncooked vegetables, and many other unregulated foods! So why the "Moo Juice"?
In today''s age of healthy eating and organic food trends,This should be a cchoice we make ourselves!not a choice by Big Brother!
Now the Amish factor.....
Several local Amish dairy farmers have filed suit with The Ohio Supreme court! This is on the grounds that it is unconstitutional! It is also descriminating and is killin' their way of living!
The Amish don't believe in pasturization,It is a recent invention of the twentieth century! They could be jailed just for tradin' some with their neighbors!
Of course The Supreme Court ruled against them! So here in Ohio there exists a Healthy Black market for MILK! Now that's a picture,Amish smuggling milk in the dark of the night!
Obviously We've got to much governing for us,Today!
~Thats right that's Henri's "KISS MY ASS" pic,get it?

Drat cuteNEway said it better than I ever could.

EvilEvilKitten1 Ecoli bacteria are an essential part of the human digestive system. Without you own range of Ecoli and other gut bacteria you would soon be unable to digest food or fight infection.
The apple juice was contaminated, whilst pasturisation might not have much effect on juice it will change the taste. Pasturisation is done to extend the shelf life of products and for no other reason.
Don't forget, people, kids....we're all a bit grubby. Infection can come from so many sources

Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life.

Although evilevilkitten has a truly, valid point about the diseases transmitted through milk, for years people never pasteurized their milk. I have never had fresh milk, but I know that there are people who still prefer it. Spunky, you can write whatever you want here. It's your blog and whether people agree with you or not, it's NOT YOUR PROBLEM! You only spoke your opinion, which in this country, is your freedom! Talk to you soon...Loveme

We pasteurize milk because of ecoli and other such devastating diseases that KILL people and are transmittable through milk. Perhaps you missed the program where apple juice was killing kids up there in Washnigton state a few years ago - yes, it was ecoli in the UNpasteurized juice that did it. But there are 6 kids dead who should not be and all for FLAVOR. Nutrients, being not viable chemicals, remain unchanged during the process. Only the bacteria and viri are killed off. Please stop carrying on like this, dear - you are doing us all a dis-service.

Welcome againEvilEvilKitten! You have not only a valid opinion but one based in fact!I'm well aware of the dangers and the facts,I just think that for those that chose to there should be a legitimate market! Not sold openly in stores as unprossessed milk will not keep, but through the farmers so that the health food fans and such can legally purchase.those that chose know the risks and then it would be their fault if they died! Many of us farm kids grew up on it and suffered no ill effects! I just feel here that there's to much government regulation,it could be more Lax For those to Chose and enjoy! I personally wouldn't drink....I don't like MILK!
Hope I haven't offended just merely my opinion,As yours are always welcome here in any form you desire! Always a pleasure, always welcome!

Hmmm unpasturised milk can't be sold in the UK either. It's a bit "Nanny State" to me as well. After all TB immunization jab comes from an observation that milk maids rarely died of TB.
I think fresh unpasturised milk should be compulsary for those that can take it.
Here in the UK I've managed to get hold of some lovely imported French goat and cow milk cheese. Made with no additives and no pasturisation. The cheese continues to change and improve with age as the lacto bacteria do their magic.
I think it's madness to kill food to make it safe. Destroys nutrients, takes the fun out of life....

Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life.

Welcome Friend! Very enjoyable comment,That cheese sounds delicious!
The point on TB and milkmaids was interesting,so many farm kids that grew up on "raw" milk are still here today,Of course there might be a natural built up immunity too!Thanx for your comment and the visit! always a pleasure to read what you've wrote!
