Last weekend I had the opportunity to have a friend up from NYC for the weekend. This friend had been up before, but that time was a bit frantic since I had rehearsals and performance committments all weekend long with very little down time. This weekend was different...very relaxing...lots more time for everything, not the least of which was sitting at the kitchen table over morning coffee and just talking. Yeah...TALKING!!! We talked about a lot of things, and it was just as fulfilling as anything else we did over the entire weekend. We talked about work, play, our feelings about a lot of world events...not the least of which was the current situation in Israel. My friend is Jewish and although he professes himself a liberal and I'm quite opposite, we were in total agreement about this conflict. We talked about past lovers and past loves. We talked about our attitudes with regard to monogamy and swinging and...etc etc etc. We talked!! It's funny...the first time we got together, I wasn't sure about much of this, but it was many months ago and I've grown since then. I love growing up at my age!! I'm writing this because I see this friend watching my blog and I want him to know how much I value his presence in my life. This is a lasting friendship we're building here and that's the only kind of friendship I want. Thank you're the BEST!!!

Songbird.....I really enjoyed your response to my comment in Skier's blog. And you are right, monogamy and polyamory are different. This is all very new to me....and my feelings aren't sorted out. I've always felt alot of love for others....but this is a little different! I'm going to put you on my watched blog list! Hope to get to know you a little better!

angel, I tried to respond to you earlier today, but the A.F.F. gremlins weren't cooperating!

Know that this is an amazing place into which you're venturing. Give it all the patience and respect it deserves and the rewards you reap will be abundant!

Thanks for stopping by my humble journal!
