What I Like in a Story

I really enjoy writing stories. The sort of story where one person, that’s you, begins and writes a few paragraphs and then sends it to me. I add a few words and we play e-mail tennis until everyone … gets to the end of the tale! You can imagine where most of them finish.

For this to work there are a few things to remember.

Use a name! Why don’t blokes put their name in e-mails? I can’t understand it. It doesn’t even have to be their real name!

Try to include some suspense. We’ve got to the second paragraph and our hero and heroine are already both naked. Boring! Worse still, where I’m expected to be wet and waiting when he walks through the door.

Set the scene. Introduce yourself. Tell me what you are thinking (apart from the obvious). If you don’t explain what is happening in your head, I won’t be able to get you really excited.

You don’t have to finish it! Get as far as, “The door closed behind them. For the first time they were alone.”, and send it to me. If you’ve paid attention and followed my other suggestions, I’ll have your name and a few clues about what you might be looking for.

If you ask a question e.g. “Would you like to stay here or should we go to a nightclub?”, then you should give your co-writer a chance to answer it. Otherwise, the other author will be trying to work out why they agreed to go to a nightclub with you ‒ instead of concentrating on the story. In this particular example, I’d reply, “I don’t mind. You choose.”

I’m sure I’ll think of some more things to remember later.

I find someone who can write a good story is usually good to chat to.

Hi Angela. Having just read your profile I have to say what an incredibly vivid sense of the erotic you have. Sensuality starts in the mind and can grow there to immense proportions. Lots of people forget that, or have never known it, just look around on here and you'll know immediately what I mean.

I hope you continue to get 'high' with what you're doing, and 'meet' loads of like-minded people,

Have fun,
