lost in thought

just reading in the times a short snippet of an article in praise of day dreaming. i know i spend a lot of time day dreaming, thinking about life and why it is as it is, why i am as i am and perhaps even why you are like you are too.

i can often remember people teasing me about staring off into space, lost in my own little thoughts. often for only a few seconds but silence bothers people. no time to let someone think.

but apparently it’s been found that children that daydream are thinking more effectively than those who pay attention to the teacher. i think there is something to be said for listening to ones own internal thoughts and i can only hope that those benefits of effective thinking carry on past childhood.

i spend a lot of time thinking about words. practical uses. using them to make improvements, pick up trends. putting them together, pulling them apart. looking for meaning and messages. trying to understand what someone is really trying to say and how to convey my own messages too.
and that's all it takes
a small thing to send me into reflection.
like part of that thought above....
how to convey my own message,
a simple word.
is all it takes.
a simple word to trigger my dreams
sending me on a magic carpet ride
soaring through my mind
searching for understanding
for the simple words
to express myself
to communicate a feeling
or an emotion.
i revel in feeling
the glorious sensation of feeling
searching to understand myself
and you.
lost in a thought
with a feeling
with my feeling
with an emotion
to be cherished
as it never passes by again
what a sublime experience
knowing your own thoughts
someone elses thoughts
and understanding them.
i hope i never stop

The so called "hypnotic" state is now thought of as the "daydreaming" mind state. Thus, when you daydream, you make sense of things. I think there is something in what you say

Is that who I think it is?
Naah, can't be she is much older
but she looks
Naah, maybe she dyed her hair?
or had a body job, it sure...
well, wonder if she would
I should
Oh, look at her
wow, now she is built
I would love to
wonder how I ask her
Naaah, better not
too young
too old
too sexy
too much day dreaming?

The secret world of a mature man
day dreaming
wondering if
looking at perfection
youth, pretty, sensual
oh well, relatity is no fun
too much day dreaming?

I wonder what size?
slender, looks good in
yes, I would love to
black how about yours?
would you like to sit
for just a moment
say hello
too much day dreaming

Aaah the daily life of a mature gentleman

i love this blog, and have nothing against dreamers or daydreamers,
but i don't see how daydreaming makes the world a better place...

conclusions drawn from dreaming, daydreaming, thinking, etc - when put
into action perhaps yes, but daydreaming alone?...

erik - i wonder sometimes if i make sense of anything...

gentle - that was lovely and nice to get an little insight into a male mind. i had a look as well at your blog and i really liked that "have you ever post".

gb and biggirlz - you know i really wasnt happy with this post and came ever so close to deleting it. it just seems silly somehow and the words don't flow like i wanted them to but thank you. i'm not really trying to write poetry, i just want to find my way with words and learn to express myself somehow.

being eros - ty too. for reading the words.

and nipafluff - i agree. its good for the mind to vacation and mine is very well travelled.

words often have a mind of their own and are hard to marshal.Mine float on my page like your thoughts in the breeze. Some would call it a disability, I prefer to see it as a conduit to ensure that when they finally do make it to the page they have a unique vivacity.Silly is not an adjective I would apply to this post.

Is all this thinking a quest for something within.A sign of malaise at your present state perhaps? or merely in your natue.I would love to know.

vivacity.. i looked that word up just to read the definiton, to be sure. i love that word.

Definition of vivacity: noun: characterized by high spirits and animation

and my thinking quest? its just my nature. to want to know and to understand the world. haven't quite got there yet...
