Why are we here?

Canongait kirkyaird in the failing year
Is auld and grey, the wee rosiers are bare,
Five gulls leem white agin the dirty air.
Why are they here? There's naething for them here
Why are we here oursels?

- Robert Garioch

i have to wonder, why am i here myself?

I don't think any of us know why we are here

Why are we where, exactly? Here? Would 'here' be here if we weren't here? It's a nice poem but we're not like the gulls, leeming white agin the dirty air - there's nothing here for them (but there is for us - of course there is for us - it's all here for us if we want it).

I do hope this change in tone is not indicative of a downturn in your outlook - although I could understand it - after all, you and I have not had the happy opportunity of chatting for something approaching one thousand years - and I can always make you smile.

Love J xx

Miss SS............you are never alone.

You have the sea-spray on your face.......your books..........your poems.........your music..........and your ultra-skimpy bikini you like to wear when you visit Southend with "the girls"
