Suppose you had the chance...

Have you ever wondered what you would do if you had the chance to change 1 thing about yourself...or maybe 1 event in your life?

11 years ago today....10/02/94 would be my day I would change if I could. I won't go into details, and really it isn't that it's anything earth shattering or tragic in general...but it was to me....nonetheless, an event that changed my life and turned it upside down.

I hadn't really thought about it too much all of these years...but for some reason it dawned on me that 11 years ago today something happened and I wished I could go back to that day...I wished I could've said things differently or done things differently.

Maybe it wouldn't have happened at all.

If it didn't happen at all, where would I be or what would I be doing differently now? It's so hard to say.

A huge part of me would like to think that life as I knew it then would be the same except better know....then again...who's to say it might've been worse.

I know that I am not alone in this way of thinking....and I'm sure if your human, you've felt and thought this way as well at one point or another.... what if, this or what if that??
Or maybe you haven't had that reason yet.

Then again...these issues of "hindsight" don't necessarily have to have been a bad thing...maybe it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Leaving one to wonder what if?

**slides in like a baseball player reaching for home** Told ya I'd make it!

Oh. There are more than one "what if's" that come to mind. Some are related to tragedies, some not so bad, and as you said "blessings in disguise."

I hope your reflection ended on a positive note.

Hugs - DT

Just answered a similar post a few days ago on Huny's blog. Answer is still the same. See it there if you like. Later and thanks for stopping by at my place.

I did go and read your comment KP...[post 100603] Very poetic...and also very true...thank you.
Are you Buddhist..?? Cuz that sure is awfully close to Buddhist philosophy... I am...and even though most of me agrees with the philosophy that the choices we make are like you said... "it is what it is" (forgive me if I don't have the exact words..but you get the gist of it) is at times human nature to wonder...what if. Yet, as long as a person doesn't dwell on it...then I suppose it's ok to wonder.
