yes more poetry

You will soon notice, that I love to write poetry, but the stuff I write does not all pertain to myself really. I can write about anything and so many things in life give me the motivation to do so. So I hope you enjoy these poems.

Random Thoughts

As I sit here,
Just Listening to the sounds
that surround me.
The wind going through the trees,
caressing each branch,
then moving on.
The birds singing in the distance
It all seems like an easy
and relaxed existence.
I just want to sit here for hours,
forgetting all my troubles.
Just basking in the suns rays,
soaking up the warmth.
My mind starts to wander back to you,
wondering what you are doing
at this percise moment.
Are you thinking of me too?
Do you think of me as often,
As I think about you?
I close my eyes and lie back down
in the grass,
Trying to revert my thoughts back to the sounds around me
I hear children in the distance laughing,
and it makes me smile.
Listening,
I hear footsteps coming,
getting closer, My eyes flutter open, at the same moment
that you come to stand before me, gazing at me,
I raise my hand to block the suns harsh rays from my eyes
and I smile.
You don't say anthing,
Just reach down your hands,
to help me up.
You pull me to you
Your strong arms, encircle me
bringing me even closer.
My head instinctly goes to rest on your shoulder.
And then you whisper in my ear,
"I've missed you"
I just smile and hug you tighter,
never wanting to let go.
Again I hear children playing,
Its getting closer now,
distracting me.
I lift my head and open my eyes,
to find that you are not here with me,
I was just imagining you,
Imagining your words that you whispered.
As I come back to reality,
Again I listen to the wind,
dancing through the trees,
I get up, brush myself off,
And as I turn to go onto the path back home,
I see you! You wave, and my heart skips a beat..
You are real! you are here,
I stand entranced by you.
You are in front of me now,
We both look into each others eyes.
The eyes tell it all, you take my hand in yours
And without saying a word to each other,
We walk,
Taking our journey together
Wherever it may take us.

ok this next poem, touches on a delicate topic. Just know, it comes from the heart, and was just meant to bring attention to a sad topic that has been going on for centuries.

The darkness overpowers her,
As she lies in her bed,
Paralyzed in fear.
Will he come tonight?
Will he hurt her tonight?

All is quiet,
She can't hear a sound,
Except for the drip, drip, drip
Of the bathroom sink,
Someone didn't shut it off right.

As she lies in the darkness,
She wonders to herself,
Why does he hurt her so?
Why does he come into her room,
And does such mean things?
All the while saying,
Hush baby, Don't cry.

She wants to scream.
He is hurting me!!!
Why can't you see?
Why can't you see my invisible scars?

She falls asleep crying
softly to herself,
Safe. For tonight,
Safe from him.

The daylight comes,
She plays quietly in her room,
Til its time to go to school

Maybe today will be the day,
that someone, anyone
Notices her silent cry for help
Maybe today.

She walks to school
Her head down all the way,
She doesn't play with anyone,
Can't have friends she says,
Can't have them find out
How dirty she is.

The teacher calls her in,
She has noticed this small child,
Always alone,
Always seeming to be in deep thought.

The teacher smiles at her,
trying to make her feel comfortable.
The child likes her, so it works.
She talks to this child, and listens
Really listens to her.

As the teacher holds her hands, she says,
You didn't do anything wrong,
Please don't feel dirty,
It was him that was to blame,
he should never of done the things that he has,
to an innocent child, to her.

As she hugs the teacher, crying
she says inbetween tears,
Finally!
Finally, someone sees my invisible scars!

Christine:

After reading both of these poems, I sense the true and unrelenting hope within you, positivity and it truly is a quality that is so redeeming. You are able to convey your thoughts with a nice flow to them. Also you show that you are able to 'reach out' and deal with the very core issues that you have had since childhood. They give hope to people out there and for that i truly commend you. Great Job ;o)

wow leaffan, thank you so much for you opinion. I will treasure it really. and I like bringing light to tough topics.. people have to wake up in this world to the things that happen around them especially to the children who do nothing wrong.

Christine ,
I once was that not so little girl.I was molested by both my stepfather and an uncle.Needless to say I have gone on with my life just to prove that I'm the stronger one,and I walk with my head held high.I am not dirty anymore they still are!

Jo, I am glad that you are a survivor, and yes they are the ones that are dirty, not the innocent child!. Walk tall hun!
