Price of Gas vs Old Mechanics know how......

And here its another start of the work week... Here the weather started off beautiful and turned into the typical northwest weather pattern rain, winds and cloudy dreary days.

Worked on my truck, put on a new 4 barrel carberator, water pump, altenator, thermostat, radiator hoses, belts and the whole ball of wax. Almost rebuilding the whole front end of the engine. THe purpose of all this is to combat the rising cost of gas in the area.

Where in the upcoming week it is going to be a given that the price for regular gas will top over $3.00 a gallon. My truck a wonderful 83 Ford F150 4x4 was getting a whoppin 8 mpg with the 2 barrel caberator. After changing it out this weeknd I'm already getting over 13 mpg out my investment.

Now compared to the new cars and truck on the market, it is chicken scratch for mileage. But at least when I open the hood I can still owrk on my truck with outpaying some mechanic $65.00 an hour to stand ther and look at all the wires and hoses. Charge me an extra $100 to run a diagnostic on the computer.

WHat do you think of the price of Gas now a days. Someplaces across the country are planning of Boycotting the gas stations... Fruitless if you ask me...

hmm, I love a man who works on their own vehicles. The combination of the smell of used motor oil and a man sweat is like an aphrodisiac too me. Instead of ewe don't touch me your dirty, oily, and grimey. I'm likely to molest them while their under the hood lol....

while getting dirty is fun, I really enjoy the cleaning up afterwards. there is just something about soaping down another body that is just so sexy.

A man who knows guns and auto mechanics ... I'm in lust.

I'd put this on another post but I'll put it here as well: the local gas station owner apologized recently to having to raise the price of gas so much. Last time there, I asked when he was going to start giving samples of AstroGlide with each fill-up. He laughed.

Ahhh Betty,

Its the simple things in life that people get the most pleasure out of... Love the astro-glide comment... There is just something about hte smell of fresh burnt gunpowder, and a powerful sounding 4x4 that gets my blood pumping...

Um, if I asked you to hone my walls ... wouldja? (I'm all about a little larger pistons!)

Or we can sit at the reloader downstairs and count out 158 grains for each .38 ...

    Your choice!

    ~Betty~
Hone your walls, I'd have to break out the special tools. Have to be careful not to scratch the inner walls and cause to much friction. As for your reloader, 158 grns of special powder well that would be enough to blow a hole in a lot of material... If you wanna splatter material around, I would suggest using a 12 guage splatter gun, some thing easy to handle that you can wrap your hands around tightly as it buck after each blast... LOL
