A question from my Daughter

My 18 yr old daughter innocently posed this question yesterday and I thought it may get some responses I certainly couldn't give her a sensible explanation:

Why is it that the only part of a womans breast that it is deemed to be indecent to show is the only part that men also have?

I didn't say anything to her, we just both laughed at the ridiculous nature of it

See my response to pussinboots above, I really didn't know what to say, and told her I would post the question on the web to see if anyone could give me a sensible answer (or even a humorous answer).

I was more amazed at such a sharp observation by an 18yr old!!!

Isn't it fairly arbitrary saying any body part shouldn't be shown? I mean, legs are can be as erotic as breasts; why not cover them too?

Legislating on something so vague means you have to come up with a rule about which nobody can argue - so they make the nipple a readily identifiable dealbreaker. No nipple, no nudity. Otherwise you could say, "oh no, that's just part of her arm" or, "wait, isn't that still part of her chest? Where do boobs begin exactly?"

One other thing: men have shape to their chests, which are covered in skin and have nipples. Short of slicing the women open, I'm not sure naked breasts are actually showing anything men don't have. But that doesn't stop them being fascinating to men. See? It's impossible to define. Even those who advocate Bhurkas are barking up the wrong tree; I've met girls whose eyes alone could give me a bonk on.
