Absence can make the heart grow fonder or colder..depends on the reason for the absence and the state of affairs prior to the absence.
Make sense?

It works both ways. Sometimes absence makes your desire for someone stronger, sometimes it makes you wonder why you desired them in the first place.

Hell, both in my case - 'holding candles' for so many people I'm in danger of 3rd degree burns . . . it's definitely screwing my mind . . . and making a dreadful waxy mess on my sleeves . . .

Tip: try "living in the moment" - cherish the space and time you spend with folk while you have them with you, and focus on what's in hand when they're not there.
(never been terribly good at it myself, but I'm told it can be quite effective)

"abscess makes the fart go 'honda'" - old joke, so crap as to not be worth recounting here, but the punchline almost fits. sort of.

professional help is being sought . . .

Makes the loins wander, in my experience. Good and healthy to have space. What length of time defines absence? 1 minute, week, month??

It definitely makes the heart grow stronger because all you can think about is the time you get home. Circumstances forced a couple of seperations and couldn't wait to get home. We so close that time apart is sleepless nights. We enjoy every moment together because we don't know what tomorrow holds for us. I want to be remembered as the man who really loved his wife. I made a promise to her, and it turns out easy to keep the promise. I had promised to love her more than yesterday. These seperations made us realize that we can't take time for granted. Live life like there is no tomorrow. I followed my heart and made the right decision to move here to be with the mrs. That was five years ago and our love continues to grow with each passing day...hell that is my goal. We been busy these days since we both working. This opens a lot of doors for us so we looking forward to some great times together.
