Harbor at Sunset

After a long day of sailing and the port-of-call is in sight, there is nothing more spectacular than to have the sun set as the wind calms and your boat silently slips into the harbor. I snapped this picture on such an occasion.

The crew is anxious to reach port for showers and dinner but now is the time for cocktails and toasts for the excellent day that was. This particular trip was memorable for both sailing and companionship because everyone got along so well.

I submitted this picture for my profile here on this site. It was rejected because it is not a picture of me. Seems faces and body parts are perfectly acceptable but a beautiful sunset is not. Oh, well. I’ll update my profile picture with a body part later.

For those of you reading this blog and not able to access my profile because you aren’t paying whatever fee this site wants, I would like to invite some of you along on a sailing trip this spring and summer. You can be male, female, or couple. Good conversation is a must. Sex is optional (see stories below).

We sail from Virginia on the Potomac River to destinations in Maryland. We usually leave on Saturday and return on Sunday afternoon. Right now May 13-14 and June 10-11 are open. Just notify sail4va on the Ya and Hoo site with your interest.
