Maybe it's the feminist in me, but I find it odd to have someone call me hun or sweetie or something like that at the first meeting, or even the first conversation on line. I even chaff a tthe grocery store where I work part time when a customer calls me something endearing like that. I know this is odd behavior on my part and I'm trying to get over it. But what ever happened to "you" like "thank you"... not "thank you hun"... speaking of words... hun... would that be like gengis kan?

I know I'm just off my rocker and I'll get off my box now

I work in a customer service call center, and get that on the phone a lot. Usually the "hun" is coming from an older lady, or someone from the South, or both. Not always, though; those huns can ambush you from anywhere! Stay alert!

BTW, your post has inspired the perfect response (if I feel I can get away with it) for the next time I get "hunned".

"Thank you, hun!"
"Visigoth, actually, but that's okay."

Hee hee hee!
