can't sleep

My father called last night and told me they had made a bid on a house half the country away. Again hinting that he would love it if I could move out there too. They will be moving in 2 years when retirement is available for them. For me, I don't know, and look at life as a trip that God is the driver... I don't really even get to navigate, just a kid in the back seat saying "are we there yet?" - wonder if God gets as tired of that as parents do?

Anyway with his phone call, and my feelings of abandonment, and eventually becoming an orphan I found it very difficult to sleep. And the heat didn't help. At 1 am I got up and read the thermostate and it was about 85 degrees in my house, and no matter what I couldn't get any cooler air inside. So I shut all the windows and the doors, and turned on the air. Still didn't sleep so well, but this morning when I woke I was under a blanket. It's only June... what will the hot months of later July and August bring... other than high electric bills!

Oh and I discovered instead of counting sheep when I'm bothered and can't sleep... I make pots in my head. Thinking of molds or ways of altering pots thrown on the wheel. When I told my mother that this morning via email she wrote back and asked if that makes me a pot head (hee hee)

Just be glad you don't live in Texas. We sometimes don't get below 90 for weeks at a time.

I was talking about lows in the 90s not highs. Now do you feel better?
