Sunsets of the Evening...

Sunsets of the Evening...

There's a lot of things that can be said
about the end of the day.
A completion of
the everyday must do things...
the return home,
away from the work and grind...
the release of pressure.
A time to take a deep breathe,
and just relax
in the soft,
evening glow.

And at the end of the day
is when
the magic of sunsets

As the sun slowly
descends its way
out of the western sky,
casting out the brilliant colors
for all the see,
if only you take the time
to look beyond yourselves.

Clouds shadowed,
darker where they are the thickest,
tinted in white
and pink... and scarlet.
A perfect blend of hues
that streak the blue-grey sky.
Blazing soft colors that burst through them
and cast themselves on rooftops,
the fields... and the mountains.
The stream... that you cross everyday,
shimmers with color.

Shadows grow longer
with each passing minute.
and your surroundings
take on a magical view.

I get caught up
in sunsets...
I always have.
Their beauty just ends the day
in such a glorious way...
just as it came in at sunrise.

We all have our own sunsets
to view.
Each is filled
with hope and wonder...
and a sense
that everything
that has happened
throughout the day
is now finished
in beauty.

Soon the evening shadows
will invade all corners...
and our smiles can't be
as easily seen.
But while the sun is setting...
cast your smile toward it,
and toward me...
and the rest of the evening
will take care of itself.

I love sunsets too. But today the sunset just annoyed me as I was in my car, and it hurt my eyes to drive into it. I have been too busy the last few days to enjoy much of anything. But your words were beautiful as usual.

I enjoyed many sunsets out of the window while I was in the hospital. Now I'm home and get to see the sunrise over Mt. Rainier. I've always loved both sunrises and sunsets, but find them even more prescious these days.

Angel... I know what you mean!

Fly... thanks pal...

Polly... me too!

Julz!!! I'm so glad you're home!!! And congratulations, sweetheart! Jason, if you think her family is tough, mess up... and you deal with me and all that I can bring from blogland!!! Seriously, I'm thrilled, (and a little envious.)

Enjoy each and every sunrise and sunset, Julz. I'm glad you have someone close to share them with. But then, you always did...
