Ahhhh, man, you don't cuss!!

A friend was talking to me today (as he had been fro more than a couple of months) and he was stating that he was just realizing that I don't cuss and asked why. I rhetorically asked him why. He said that you needed it to add emphasis to your story. I disagreed with him and I bantered with him coming up with viable alternatives to express my emotions.

Then, he brought up the bedroom....and said that it would sound funny if one didn't cuss a bit. I laughed at him and told him that there was a time and place for everything...and I would be more apt to use some slang terms than the actually "soft" version.

I was brought up with the belief that using less vulgarity in one's speech was a sign of better upbringing and being more educated. What do you think? Do you tend to use more cussing when you speak than not? Do you tend to use it more in the bedroom than not???

Just curious...

LOL... I have a regular potty mouth at my one job.. lots of men, welder, construction,..Gots to keep ahead of them..and you know you are when you have them walking around with their fingers in their ears going 'lalalala'.. But I hardly swear away from job or in a public place. Theres a time and place for everything. We are all toning it down at work too..

Hmmm...I don't generally cuss in public. I don't generally cuss in front of the guys either. I have cussed in public, but it's usually when I'm really ticked off.

It's a fair bet that when I do cuss, I'm pissed off. If not, it's safe to approach me.

For the longest time of my life, I never cussed. I felt the same as you. There shouldn't be a need to. When I moved out east, near New Your City, I found myself start doing it. It seemed to come from living in the area. With some of the inconciderate drivers, and the crime that I wasn't used to coming from the midwest. I hate it when I do it, but it just seems to come out at times. The only time I cuss is when I am angry though. It just seems to come out without thinking about it.

There is no room for it in the bedroom. That is a place for rest and sensual pleasure. When having sensual pleasure, it could put a kink in having the enjoyment, that is suppose to be happening.

I confess.. I have a difficult time doing really ROUGH SEX.. I once role played a scene and scared the crap out of my partner though. heheh

Also, find it very difficult to say many "bad words" in bed.. they just dont cummm to me... I to think I should role play more to try to learn this "skill"???

One of my Tantra students was really (secretly) into BDSM.. so during a love session (Tantra) she asked me to paddle her fine ass.. and hended me her favorite paddle (first time I saw it). Well, I gave her a few wacks which she loved, but I noticed I now had no erection.. so much for violence and rough stuff in the bedroom these days for me... heheheh perhaps LATER !!!!!!!!!!

The army issued me a filthy mouth when I joined. My quad leader took me into a private meeting when I arrived at my unit and said "I can tell you have some college in you, boy, but itwon't do you any good here. All you need to be able to do is drink all night, watch your buddies' backs when the shit hits the fan, and get back here in time for morning formation. Being able to run in a straight line while drunk is a plus. You're going to forget words that you know now. In two years, your'll find things you wrote before you came here, and there will be words in your own handwriting that you don't know the meaning of. But, on the plus side, you will learn to use the word 'fuck' as any part of an english sentence."

noundawear4me - Oh, I agree. My daughter cussses up a storm when she rants and raves... and I just sit back and throw her off by stating in a very calm voice, "I didn't know that is was possible for it to do that". She really hates that... and throws her off completely as to why she was ranting and rave in the first place!!!

Lipator - So true!!

xrickjonesx - I definately tend to tune them out when folks are cussing as well. If you hear me cussing, you have backed me into a corner and pushed all the possible buttons and I am feeling that I have fallen over the edge before I utter even a cuss word.

brandnewman2003 - Wow! And, so young. I probably would have said something... maybe even what I do to my daughter to throw them off a bit.

i agree with all of the above... to a point. however, when visiting germany, you have a better chance of being understood if you speak german. having said that, if any of you have spent any time supervising a handful of teenagers with attitudes, you will understand what i mean when i say that a properly placed f-bomb can do wonders for making someone see things your way. however, it is not usually my first choice to get the job done.

I'm not so sure that swearing has the same emphasis that it once had anyhow. Whats the point of using something for emphasis, when you use all the time. It's kind of like using an exclamation mark at the end of all your sentences, OR WRITING EVERYTHING IN CAPITALS. It looses its meaning. Besides I think it lacks a lot of refinement, when its used with disregard for how people feel about it.

7/25/2005 8:34 pm

I personally do not use cuss words in my daily vocabulary. I use to when I was younger...but as I've raised my kids, I don't think I've ever used a bad word in front of them, hoping they will learn that it's not required to communicate.

My only exception is if I'm alone and somehow come across some agonizing pain (hitting thumb with a hammer), then the words will fly freely!!

7/25/2005 8:22 pm

the use of a lot of fucking profanity is often an indication of fucking poverty of speech and fucking immaturity and shit oh yeah vulgarity <BRRRAACK>.

Lack of same is a sign of refinement, maturity and grace as well as linguistic sophistication.

I guess it all boils down to the kind of person you want to present to the world.

In the bedroom though when the passions are heated and the action is getting raw and down and dirty who gives a fuck? Well mannered, romantic sex is great to be sure but I find that it's more fun to drop all pretensions and just get nasty. But hey that's me.
