There are very few things in my life I regret. I believe that the journey our life takes us helps to build our character and mold us into the people we are today.

I am going to share with you a memory that I have that I regret. I was only a child but even now I can't believe I would do something this mean. I sincerely wish I could take it back.

As a child there was a blind man on my street who would always carry a bag of candy and give us children a treat and when he stopped to say hello. He lived next door to my best friend. We being the little snots that we were didn't appreciate his kindness. My friend and I would sneak into his house and follow him around knowing he couldn't see us. He would call out every now and then wanting to know who was in his house but we wouldn't respond. We just kept up our "game". I was about 6 or 7 but I knew better than to do this.

As an adult I look back on this in horror that I would sneak into a man's house and take his disability lightly and make a game out of it. My parents raised me better than this but I sure didn't show it by this story.

you've shown remorse. that's a sign that your parents DID raise you better than that.

dont beat yourself up about it. you were just a child, I have done MANY things that I look back on in horror and shock. the important thing to know is that its not who you are.

The saying that I live by, thats gets me through each day,
"Your actions do not define you. Its what you do afterwards that does. Its how you pick yourself back up, dust off, and move forward."
