Whatever happended to the days of being a gentleman? My friends and I were discussing this the other day and thought I would put it out there. Now a days it is not an expectation but a surprise when a man holds the door for you, allows you to enter or exit a dooor or elevator first, doesn't shove you to get in a line first, etc. I can't tell you how riled up I get when a man pushes past me to get to the door first , rushes through before me, and then lets the door slam in my face. I have also been in an elevator where men will physically shove all the women aside so they can exit first or shove past little old women in the grocery store cause they were moving to slow for them.

I love Cary Grant movies. I think he was the quitessential gentleman. If only they made more like him today..

oh yeah, Cary Grant was the undercover pimp of all pimps!!!!

I see that alot too, and also has to do with a strong lack of correct upbringing and just plain old manners.

Respect women
Respect your elders.

Thats not too hard is it?

007 was qite the gentleman too, when portrayed by Connery or Moore. At least I always thought so.

tires- I used to think Connery was a gentleman til I read his interview where he said women needed to be slapped around every now and then to keep them in place-- after that I couldn't think of him as a gentleman anymore
