Seems While I'm Away All Hell Breaks Lose. Gotta Stop.

It has taken me awhile to fully understand what has recently transpired in Blogville. I think I have an accurate handle on it. It would seem that we had a Civil war, or perhaps more accurately, an Uncivil War. Just as with the original conflict, sides were taken and casualties resulted. And just as with the original, things will return to normal.

So what happened? Here is my take from what I have experienced and gathered...and deduced. It seems in some way we had 4 primary players. Travelingintexas, Mzhunyhole, kyplowboy2, and me. Not sure how I got involved during my absense...but I do have a take on it.

I email back and forth with traveling. I like him and consider him to be a very bright and talented young man of 30ish years. I remember being that age. Full of piss and vinegar and loaded with testosterone. We can't help it at that age. So far, he's no different than any of the males were at that age. The only difference so far, he's more talented than me and I'm older.

Mzhunyhole is one of the very first people I met here in Blogville. What I know of her is this. She is exactly what you believe her to be. Sincere and extremely compassionate. The type of person that gives you the shirt off their back without question or without expecting anything in return even if she's cold. At every turn her blog is aimed at helping others, often by citing her own pain and misfortune or even mistakes.

Kyplowboy2 by everything I have read and personally experienced is a gentleman and has a great sense of humor. I have never seen him turn on anyone nor have I ever seen him as abusive. He seems to be the type of person you'd definitely enjoy sitting down and having drinks with.

Talldarkavg1, well, if you've read anything I have written...I'm a dick. A loose cannon and I take nothing seriously...except an ex's lawyer. Make no mistake about this...I am pleased an honored that anyone would read my antics...however...if I drop off the list tomorrow, so what? I will keep writing the same crap if anyone reads it or not. I make me laugh and that's good enough. If I can bring a smile to another's face and ease their burden...this is a great bonus to me.

What happened? All the players are good people. All the players have made many friends in here. How did things go so wrong so fast? It seems that human nature took over. It is human nature to be drawn to other people. We tend to read what appeals to us. Some people are drawn to every blogger in this town. Many do so with great passion. Many select favorites and designate them by placing them on a watch list. They grow to like the blogger, often alot.

Is it not simple human nature to defend those we like? Is it also common in such defense that tempers may flare? Of course it is. We're all human. There are many that take their writing very seriously and work very hard on what they post. Is it beyond us to understand that if someone works very hard to be recognized and takes great pride in all they do, that they would be proud of any position they may attain on a list of Popular Blogs?

Imagine after working at it so hard they find others ahead of them due to a month's worth of multiple comments by a few others. It is understandable they may be upset a bit. Remember here too, it isn't the number comments the writer of the blog makes that determines ranking...it is the number of comments posted by others.

I am in the thick of it because it happened on my blog in my absence. I take full responsibility. Every blogger that has ever written a single blog has written the piece directed at input from others. Everyone. However, we expect one comment each from our visitors.

What has happened has happened. Nobody has been removed from the site unless they did so voluntarily. No terms of service have been broken. What has happened is we just fought a Civil War. This time, there are many winners and no losers. We all learned a valuable lesson about ourselves, our passions, our feelings, and our tempers. Let us also learn a valuable lesson about the depth of our compassion, understanding, and forgiving.

Listen Sweetie, you weren't here so you can't take responsibility for it. Everyone on this site is an adult and as an adult should act accordingly and part of that is taking resposibility for their own actions.

Have tongue, will use it. Repeatedly.

I think you wrote this post very well, TDA. You have my respect for being such an understanding soul. I sure as hell hope that things between those involved have been patched up. Let's get on with our regular blogging. How's your back, BTW? I have a back problem too and I know damn well it's a f---ing shit thing to live with.

TDA1

One correction I would like to present to you for consideration. This did not involve you, this did not involve MzHunyHole, either. This whole fiasco, which I inadvertantly started, was my brainchild, and only involved myself and the two others that I was referring to in my comments on your blog. I put it there because of your wide readership and hoped that the 'involved parties' would see it there. All of these other people jumped into the fray of their own accord; they never even had a dog in this fight, and their input was ignored by me as irrelivent. It was never any of their concern in the first place, and if they feel injured, I'm sorry for it, but it was a self-inflicted wound. I never spoke to 'em one way or the other. They were never really involved in any of the resolution process anyway and just kept the fires getting hotter and hotter, even after the resolution of the problem (which, by the way, occured sometime late Sunday/early Monday) they still insisted on agging on a problem, often under the facade of peacemakers, that no longer existed. I have not looked this morning, but I can only imagine that there are new posts about this very topic and the problem has been resolved for three days now! WTF??? Get over it! Later.

I agree with KPB2 completely.

First, MzHuny and you TDA had nothing to do with any of this. People walked into this situation on their own...myself included. I dropped a few comments in this blog just because I thought it was funny. When I came back later and saw the T had done a "counter-blog" if you will, I dropped comments there as well. I then sat back and watched as T's blog was splattered with nasty, vile, and vicious comments. I slipped in the ocassional "hey guys this is all in fun" comment, but it was too late. And my friend had been terribly hurt by the one thing he enjoys most.

As far as the rather controversial post in my blog yesterday, and it was definitely not intended to be as such, it was based on observations I've made since joining this site, as well on like observations made by KPB2 over the weekend. My post was not a "peace facade." Those were my thoughts based on my observations. At the bottom of that post was what was supposed to originally be the post topic. And yes, it was one of peace, happiness, and love. As it should be.

Anyway, I've ventured out across the blogs today, and all seems quiet and back to normal. Not sure "normal" is the right word choice...but, I'm in a hurry.

I have seen these blog padding techniques happening well well before this present brou-ha-ha ever started. There are several ways to do it. In the end these are only blogs, and each blog author has the right to comment as often as desired or accept as many comments from others as wanted.

I also think that these periodic controversies are good for BlogLand overall. They get the juices flowing and prompt a flurry of activity. Also, they provide me with fodder for The Venting Blog.

BLOG ON!

TDA, one of the wonders of being a veteran of life.... as a lady I was cohabitating with at the time told me...

You do some of your best work around here ...when you're gone.

Something only a MAN can accomplish?????????

would like to inquire, about issues with your back? Hope your doing better, !!!!

So what your saying is people are bitching about how many comments the author of a blog makes? WTF...Having you (and them) respond on OUR comments is half the fun...Dose this explain why your NOT responding any more???or is it because of your back??? either way SUCK'S!!!!

And always remember "Love your enemy,it will drive them CRAZY"
