Helped Another Damsel in Distress.

Went for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail today. A beautiful day in the 70's, nothing like the southern California mountains in springtime. Came across a couple of 30 something ladies. One had a moderately twisted ankle, they were a long way from a road with a car on it. They had been sitting in the sun for the last 30 minutes after the injury.

I gave Kianna one of my hiking poles to use as a crutch and helped her to some shade. Made the initial assessment of her ankle, a big bruise and swelling. Did not appear to be broken. (A text from the hospital ER confirmed it wasn't). I gave Kianna and Lisa some cold water bottles to drink. I then took one of my frozen water bottles and put it in a spare clean sock and placed it on the injury.

After chatting for a lil bit, I found out they were on a one way hike with a friend picking them up a few more miles down the trail. They were waiting on the wrong side of a locked gate a couple miles away.

We discussed her options for a ride out: air rescue helicopter, very bumpy ride in an ambulance or hike/carried to trailhead.

Hike was the preferred route. 2 hours later, I get 2 kisses and hugs of thanks at the trailhead. Then caught a ride to my car.

Fun time had with 2 beautiful young women.

A couple of younger guys came by the earlier and said they would send help. Never happened. Checked in with forest staff before going home.
