Learning to use a butter knife

I haven't played with paint on canvas for awhile.

I had a dream a couple of months ago about a painting, and I put off experimenting with it until tonight.

In the dream, I saw something simple: thick ropes of primary colors on a white canvas, like banks running into each other, red, yellow, blue.

All I have are acrylics to work with, and some soft gel that is almost gone and the only thing I could think of to build up the ropes of color was a butter knife.

Oh! To be able to use oil paints, but I can't clean up after oil paints in this small apartment, but OH, thick, juicy ropes of lovely oil paints instead of acrylic MMMMMMMM.

Now I'm agitated and can't sleep. I have to wait until what I did dries before I play with it some more.

It feels like the top of my head is opened up and I'm like a conduit with a rush of energy blowing through me like wind from some source at the center of the universe and I like it but I don't know how to turn it off and my brain is full of fizzy pops and I want to jump out of my skin because it's overwhelming and my being is too small to handle it properly

An Artist! I knew it! I figured there was a reason you're so creative in your thoughts around here. I know that "brain is full of fizzy pops" feeling... I get those sometimes when I'm writing. It's a wonderful high!
