Lover of Music

Hmmm seems I'm on a ball today with postings...LOL. Oh well, I guess I have a lot of things running through my mind. Hopefully you will all bear with my ramblings...

Anyway, I'm sitting here listening to music. Its absolutely gorgeous outside today. Warm with a nice breeze blowing in through the windows, everything is turning such a beautiful green again. I love this time of year. It just brings out so much energy and hope from within me. Combine that with music and I float on clouds. My imagination begins to run, visualizing all the wonderful things that puts a smile on my face.

I'm a person greatly affected by music. I always have been. I really wish I had the ability to put feelings and thoughts to music, like all the amazing artist out there today. I'll listen to songs that come over the radio, and first my mood will adjust to the tone and sense of the music....then I really open my ears and focus to the words. The words, stories of situations so many face throughout life, or feelings that all of us have had at some point in time. So many different things and it just puts me in awe. The amazing thing is each song can fit someone differently depending on how they interpret it.

How many of you are affected by music? How does it make you feel when you listen to it? And last but not least, tell me what genre's or artist you love to hear.

Music is a great stimulant for memories, sometimes just the first bar of a song will conger up an old friend or place. I posted this morning about my first real sexual experience that happened at a music festival and the comment was I can’t tune a classic rock station on my radio without getting a hard on LOL. But there is some truth to that:

George Benson, Breezing ‒ Sailing under a perfect starlit night
Jimmy Hendrix, Purple haze ‒ Sex with Jen
Carrie, Jonnie Mitchell ‒ A summer bumming in the Greek Islands

Have a great weekend

Thank You for Your Time and Attention

I guess I could tell you what is currently in my CD player. That will give you a good idea.

The Game - Documentary
Absolutely awesome. It's , a revitalization of the West Coast under the direction of Dre. Also contributing and producing are 50 cent and Eminem. If you like just a little bit of but aren't sure what to buy, I highly recommend this album.

Eminem - Straight Outta the Lab
An un-released version of his current album. It was leaked onto the internet. Pretty good but definitely unrefined.

Killswitch Engage - Alive or just Breathing and End of Heartache
Both albums are killers. Hardcore metal with some old school riffs and melodies, a breakaway from todays non-stop yelling with some actual singing. It gets me really pumped up and is a fav of mine for the gym and pre-race prep.

Mudvayne - The End of all Things to Come
Good metal. They have a new album that just came out with some good hits already. I think I need to get it!

As for what music does to me: I absolutely love it. One of my favorite toys is my Sandisk digital music player. i can listen to my music everywhere I go. Nice!

Music is God! I'm a bit older and a musician as well, and I play jazz/bossa nova guitar, so I like: Antonio Carlos Jobim and Joao Gilberto. For jazz I like: Miles Davis on the CD Kind of Blue; for piano -- Bill Evans or Bill Charlap; for rock: Jimi Hendrix, some Doors, Beatles and Stones; and I like show tunes and cabaret.
