What Is True Love

True love is not defined in any dictionary. When you are with someone for any length of time, things occur in your day to day life that you share. Simple things like phone calls, text messages or e-mails to that special someone to let them know how things are going in your day and to find out how things are going in their life. You are the first person they think of contacting in time of happiness or heartache. When getting together and going out, the holding hands while you are walking, sharing dessert after dinner, the opening and closing of doors for your special someone. Bring the car around to the door in bad weather. Giving her a coat when she is cold.

Not withstanding intimacy, yes, there are many, many ways to express your love to someone. When they are in front of you and you tell them you love them, look deep into their eyes and say it with meaning. You may say that to many people that pass through your life, but how do you know your “true love”, your “one and only” or “your soul mate?” When that person is no longer in your life you feel dazed and confused. Walking around like a zombie not knowing what to do next. Do anything to pass the time to get them off your mind, but it does not work. Try and eat but can’t. Lay awake in bed trying to fall asleep but can’t. The constant reminders of that person with everything you do, places you go or things that you see leads you to tears and an empty feeling in your stomach and a pain going through your entire heart. Looking at your phone in hopes that it will ring or checking your computer for e-mails.

If you want a definition of “Love” you can find that in any dictionary. This was my definition of “True Love.” That you won’t fine anywhere but within yourself.
