I don't wanna growup....

I couldn’t have my computer on the other night due to the thunderstorms, so I decided to do what any sane person would do. I went into my backyard and stood in the rain. I guess I’m lucky the lightening didn’t get me. It was opening up the sky and lighting up the night. It rained so hard I couldn’t see a few feet in front of me and it felt WONDERFUL!
Even with air conditioning, the house was sticky hot. I think it was the first time that I purposely got into the rain since childhood.

When I was a child, it was a big deal to play in the rain. We would all put on our swimsuits and go splash in the puddles. Laughing and dancing, not a care in the world. Our dirt driveway was a quarter of a mile long and we would take turns running down it and then sliding along in the mud to see who would go furthest. Getting filthy dirty and then standing in the rain to be washed off. If the rain had let up, then we would bring out the hose and spray the mud off. A bit colder but just as much fun.

I still own a box of 96 Crayola crayons and every so often I take them out, raid my son’s coloring books and commence to creating artwork worthy of the Louvre. HA~ When my son plays with his Legos, I can be found right beside him, building houses and cars. His video games look like fun but carpal tunnel prevents me from doing much, other than cheering him on.

I love to still act like a kid sometimes. Don’t you think we all need to keep a bit of kid in us? Keep that free spirit and innocent wonder that makes children so precious.

I completely agree - nothing like a bit of a kid in us to keep the spirit going.

Until later

By all mean there still a bit of kids in most of us, it's the only way to free the mind and let go of stress at times. Besides is not funny to watch people react to an adult playing in a puddle LOL
Have a great day Dandy

There's nothing to be gained from growing up, so don't do it!!

If my boobs were bigger I'd be a BBW!

Growing up is always hard to do so why not stay a kid for as long as we possibly can my friend.

I really got into this one. Yes, we have an inner child, and that's the part of us that has fun. We should induge it... even when what we do might not exactly make a whole lot of sense. *winking*

Yep! Me too! Sometimes I wish I could go back about 40 years... just to hang out awhile and forget what it's like to be a grown up!

Rain in Indiana..

Your story.. mud n rain.. as a kid, I once dug one hell of a large hole in the back yard.. even flooded it with the garden hose; it was going to be my "swimming pool"... now, I know to line it with plastic, but not back then as a kid.. heheheheh

I somehow kinda figured that about you, Free. Not the odd part, just the marching to your own beat.
