I Have a Confession to Make

I am a huge Clippers fan. I have been since the early 90’s.

For those that don’t know what the Clippers are. They are a professional basketball team. Specifically, they are known as one of the worst franchises in professional sports.

So why do I cheer for this team? I can’t really say why. The Lakers play in the same city, but for some reason I never have liked them. In fact, I have grown to despise the Lakers.

Maybe I like rooting for the underdog. Maybe I like seeing a team go from the bottom of the barrel, to respectability. Or maybe I just hate myself, and rooting for the Clippers is some sort of punishment.

Whatever the case may be, I now find myself as a huge fanatic. I try to never miss a game on TV. If a friend tries to make plans on a night the Clippers play, I tell them sorry can’t make it. And in the off-season when there are no games on, I still find myself checking the Clippers message boards everyday.

This year, they are actually pretty good. They are not champion caliber or anything like that, but they are in position to make some noise in the playoffs. For a team that has not made the playoffs in 13 years, this is an awesome achievement.

So if I go a day without updating my blog, please forgive me. Because I am more than likely celebrating a Clipper win.

Your better than me, I can't root for the nuggets, way to many dissapointing seasons..even if they win the championship, I will never root for the nuggets. Clippers? Your right they have been terrible for many years.

When I was a kid, I was a huge Sixers fan, thanks to Charles Barkley. Remember those height posters, where you could measure your height to a NBA player? I had the Barkley poster. Next to Mike Schmidt, Barkley was GOD. Then he got traded to Phoenix, and I stopped watching the Sixers, and never went back.

Now, I'm more into college basketball, especially my alma mater (East Tennessee State), even though this team can frustrate ya like no other.

The Nuggets are actually pretty good now. They should be good as long as Carmelo Anthony is there.
