This Old Old Old House!

Scratch the book for now. It occured to me that if I'm going to find someone to share my life with here, they should know what there in for. I bought this very old house 140+ years old. It was in dangerously bad shape. I've spent the last two years stableizing the structure, and have just finished gutting the inside. I haven't written about it in my blog because this was kind of my distraction from that! I'm waiting now for estimates on putting a frost wall under the house and an add-on that I want to build. I've ordered the lumber for next year to build a full Dormer across the back of the house and to rebuild a shed section on the back of the house, that will house the new bathroom and combination mud room/laundry room. I guess my point in telling this is that the woman who wants to share my life would have to share in this project as well. I personally would welcome the feminine influence as I tend towards the spartan. So there you have it ladies, another[this one very real] qualification!

Oh m,thanks for stopping by! I was getting a little worried about you. Actually m the 4 ft skylights will face the ocean and the Dormer will be across the back of the house to provide access to the loft bedroom. It's a really tiny house,a wee hoose to use the vernacular,as so many of the original houses were,so one has to get creative to make good use of the space. I'll post a pic of it,just to give you an idea! I'm so glad you got in touch. Sounds like you've been working much to hard. Be kind to yourself m. By the way,you share a name with some of my very favorite people on the planet. One,my 90 year old Mum,who it grieves me to say is failing, and the wife of my oldest friend, who is also a dear friend of mine. I'll be headed back to Maine soon,to look after me sweet Mum and see her outof this world as gently and sweetly as possible. Also need to get some health problems of my own taken care of. I won't be posting as much, but please stop by for news of my lifes journey, and leave a post to let me know how you are doing. I truly do feel a remarkable connection to you,and you've become quite special to me. Take good care of yourself m. Get some rest.and don't be so hard on yourself! Those tender hugs mean a great deal, and I hope you'll accept my sweet ones in return. Blessings to you m

ps pic will be with original post! Kevin
