We got this off of artofwar2006 artofwar2006's blog. He has had a pretty rough time of things here lately, might want to go by and read back in his blog to get up to speed and wish him well. He seems to be a pretty good egg.

I couldn't believe that I could actually understand what I was reading. The phenomenal power of the human mind, according to a research at Cambridge University, it doesn't matter in what order the letters in a word are, the only important thing is that the first and last letter be in the right place. The rest can be a total mess and you can still read it without a problem. Amazing huh? Yeah and I always thought spelling was important!if you can read this repost it. This always amazes me no matter how many times I read it.

This was the first time I have seen this or ever really thought about it. I believe that you have an interest in anthropology and I have a question in that area, kinda. Does this phenomenon cross language barriers? Is it applicable say, in German or Spanish? I would imagine that it would be, can't imagine that it wouldn't. But does it? Just one of those things that the government will prolly soon grant millions for to investigate. lol Why, it may hold the secret why different cultures with different languages can't friggin' understand each other and just get along!

Not sure really and linguistics was never my strong suit. But would imagine also that it works the same way. Our brains do. You are right, I think I hear a grant calling, lol. Hugs, Rosa
